Professional Web Interface Design
Discus Athletic is a clothing label purchased by a competing brand, Russell Athletic. Once Russell Athletic purchased Discus, they decided to re-brand rather than dissolve it. It was designed to target teens through 30 year olds who followed an active, athletic lifestyle. WebConnection was approached to design a web site that would generate interest for this new initiative.
Because of the age demographic of their target audience, and the desire to generate excitement for the brand, it was determined that through Graphic Web Site Design we would create a sleek, sexy site infused with photographic elements representative of their target audience. We embedded a Professional Flash presentation on the home page which cycles through various photos of young adults, accentuated with motion graphics and choreographed to high energy rock music. The idea was to inspire excitement and thus entice a visitor to explore the rest of the site.
Through the process of Graphic Web Site Design, we were able to help Discus define their brand both on and offline. Although the clothing line still has an uncertain future, we are proud to have participated in its redevelopment.
